FG Launches 12MW Solar Mini-Grid Project in Rivers State

The Federal Government's 12MW solar mini-grid project in Rivers State is set to benefit 13,492 households and businesses. The initiative, executed by the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), aims to enhance access to renewable energy and improve the quality of life for thousands of families.

During the groundbreaking ceremony, Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara, represented by Deputy Governor Professor Ngozi Nma Odu, expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for supporting the project, which aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda. Dr.

Abba Aliyu, Managing Director of REA, emphasized the government's commitment to ensuring no Nigerian community is left behind in energy access. The project will not only provide reliable electricity but also strengthen local businesses, improve healthcare and education, and create job opportunities.

Previously, REA has delivered 16 renewable energy projects across Rivers State, with a total installed capacity of 11.5MW, connecting 14,300 homes and businesses.
