Enugu City International Marathon Set for August 29, 2026

The 2nd Enugu City International Marathon is scheduled for Saturday, August 29, 2026, with over 30,000 athletes expected to compete for medals, prize money, and recognition. The event is organized by Nilayo Management and has the full backing of the Enugu State Government.

Preparations are underway for the ‘Marathon Expo,’ which will serve as the official kit pickup point for registered runners and will feature various brand activations. A week-long buildup of sports, music, wellness, and business showcases is planned leading up to race day.

The Enugu City International Marathon World Press Conference is set for Thursday, August 28, 2026, where organizers, government officials, elite athletes, and sponsors will discuss final race details, security arrangements, and the prize structure. The race day will include a 42km Elite Marathon starting at 6:30 AM and a 10km Fun Run starting at 8:30 AM.

Comprehensive security, medical, hydration, and traffic management plans have been finalized to ensure a safe experience for all participants and spectators.
