Over 60,000 Bauchi PDP Supporters Join PRP for 2027 Elections

Over 60,000 supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi State defected to the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), expressing frustration with the PDP-led administration. The defectors, organized under the Hon. Umar Farouk Adam Support Group, announced their decision at the MHWUN Complex in Bauchi.

Hon. Umar Farouk, the group's leader, stated that their move was driven by unfulfilled campaign promises and inadequate empowerment programs. They pledged support for Senator Shehu Buba Umar, the PRP gubernatorial candidate and Deputy Chairman of the Senate Committee on Culture and Tourism.

Hon. Tijjani Aliyu Madangala, Majority Leader of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, represented Buba at the event and welcomed the defectors, indicating that their defection signifies a readiness for political change in Bauchi State ahead of the 2027 elections. Political leaders encouraged youths to pursue education and vocational skills for economic independence.

The mass defection is anticipated to influence political realignments in the state as parties prepare for the upcoming elections.
