Oyebamiji Calls for Peace After Osun Governorship Election

Bola Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the recent Osun State governorship election, has urged for peace in the state after reports of violence against APC members. He specifically mentioned that five individuals were assaulted in his hometown, Ikire, on Friday.

Oyebamiji made these statements after meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. This meeting occurred shortly after Governor Ademola Adeleke, who won the election, presented his Certificate of Return to the President.

Oyebamiji advised Adeleke to communicate with his supporters to prevent further violence, stating that incidents of attacks were still occurring as recently as Friday morning. He noted that the APC is currently reviewing the election results before making any formal statements.

In response, Adeleke commended Oyebamiji for his call for peace and emphasized the importance of restraint among all political parties, reflecting on the violence experienced during the election period.
