Oyebamiji Addresses Osun Election Outcome and Violence

Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the recent Osun State election, acknowledged the disappointing election outcome but expressed gratitude to voters, party leaders, and campaign volunteers. He supported the party's decision to review the election results, respecting the electoral umpire's position.

Oyebamiji emphasized that the values and causes promoted during his campaign remain vital for Osun State's development and urged supporters to stay engaged in state improvement efforts. He raised alarms about increasing hostility and violence against APC members following the election, calling for intervention from the Osun State Government and the Nigeria Police Force to address these attacks.

The Independent National Electoral Commission declared Ademola Adeleke of the Accord party the winner, with 511,067 votes against Oyebamiji's 444,815 votes, marking a margin of 66,252 votes. Oyebamiji urged his supporters to remain calm and peaceful during the post-election period.
