Ekiti Governor Disburses N49m to Youth Organizations

Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has disbursed N49 million as the second tranche of the state’s 2026 youth subvention to 90 youth organizations. This initiative, announced by the Commissioner for Youth Development, Adesola Adedayo, aims to strengthen youth organizations and enhance grassroots participation in governance.

The subvention is designed to support registered youth, student, and community-based organizations in executing their programs without excessive reliance on politicians. Adedayo emphasized the importance of utilizing the funds judiciously to develop members and contribute to community development.

Beneficiary organizations must maintain functional bank accounts for the funds and submit reports on their activities. The Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Development, Elijah Maxwell, noted that this financial support has enabled youth organizations to finance programs and engage young people productively.

The Oyebanji administration has shown a commitment to youth development since 2024, with plans to expand the program to include more registered organizations.
