Oyo State Reports 77.5% Budget Performance, Plans Electric Buses

The Oyo State Government announced a 77.5% pro-rata budget performance for the first half of 2026, during the presentation of the 2026 Half-Year Budget Implementation Report at the Local Government Staff Training School in Ibadan. Prof Musibau Babatunde, the Secretary to the State Government, highlighted that the state achieved a 77.5% revenue performance from January to June 2026, reflecting the government's commitment to fiscal management and transparency.

He stated that Oyo State would soon receive 50 electric buses to improve public transportation and reduce commuting costs. Babatunde also noted that the government had reviewed citizen-nominated projects from town hall meetings, with some already underway.

He explained the focus on infrastructure and education in budget allocations, as many projects in other sectors overlap with these areas. Additionally, Babatunde mentioned the administration's integrated approach to security and the forthcoming unveiling of the Omituntun 3.0 blueprint.
