Oyo State Promotes 1,535 Local Government Workers

The Oyo State Local Government Service Commission has issued promotion letters to 1,535 staff members across the 33 local government areas as part of the 2025 promotion exercise. The promotions span Grade Levels 06 to 17 and include workers from seven departments: Administration and General Services (288), Agriculture and Natural Resources (57), Budget, Planning, Research and Statistics (40), Education and Social Services (431), Environmental Health Services (44), Finance and Supplies (315), and Works, Housing, Lands and Survey (360).

Bashorun Akinwole, the Chairman of the commission, presented the letters, emphasizing that the initiative reflects Governor Seyi Makinde's dedication to enhancing workers' welfare and motivation. Akinwole stated that the promotion signifies recognition of hard work and a call for greater responsibility in service delivery.

He also reiterated the commission's commitment to regular promotions and improved welfare packages for staff in line with the Omituntun 2.0 agenda of the Makinde administration.
