Oyo State Initiates 2027/2029 Budget Framework Training

The Oyo State Government has commenced the preparation of its 2027/2029 Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) while also training senior civil servants on leadership and talent management. Barr.

Ayobami Ojo, the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, emphasized that the MTEF is crucial for aligning government spending with policy priorities and available resources. The training session, held at the University of Ibadan Conference Centre and attended by 60 officials from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), aims to enhance understanding of the MTEF process and improve technical capacity.

Ojo stated that the workshop would deepen knowledge in areas such as revenue forecasting and programme-based budgeting, ensuring alignment with the Roadmap for Sustainable Development (Omituntun 2.0) and Agenda 2040. He urged participants to prioritize transparency and accountability in budget preparation.

The Permanent Secretary, Mr Tunde Ayanleke, praised Governor Seyi Makinde for supporting the workshop, while Lead Consultant Dr Ayuba Onifade stressed the importance of credible information from MDAs for the MTEF's quality.
