Oyo State and Dangote Foundation Aid 30,000 Residents

The Oyo State Government, in collaboration with the Aliko Dangote Foundation, distributed 10kg bags of rice to 30,000 vulnerable residents as part of efforts to cushion the impact of economic hardship. This distribution occurred at the Local Government Training School Secretariat in Agodi, Ibadan, marking the second phase of the food relief outreach.

Prof. Olanik Adeyemo represented the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Musibau Babatunde, who stated that the program is designed to reduce poverty and improve the welfare of vulnerable groups, including widows and people living with disabilities. The distribution will cover all 33 local government areas in the state.

Mr. Babatunde expressed appreciation for the Aliko Dangote Foundation's noble initiative, which reflects the state's commitment to engaging the private sector in addressing poverty and food insecurity. Mr. Edero Ejiro from the foundation noted that this intervention is part of a nationwide food relief program.

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the support, which helps alleviate the burden of rising food prices.
