Oyo State Distributes Subsidized Food for Eid el-Kabir

The Oyo State government, through the Oyo State Agricultural Credit Corporation, has initiated the distribution of subsidized food items to workers in preparation for the Eid el-Kabir celebration. Chairman Akeugberu Akeugbagold disclosed that this initiative is part of the government's efforts to cushion economic challenges faced by workers.

The distribution exercise took place at the corporation's premises in Ibadan, the state capital. A statement issued by Dotun Oyelad informed that the program is designed to support workers during the festive season.

Akeugbagold noted that a total of 120 million Naira has been allocated for the procurement of these commodities, which include rice, vegetable oil, and ram, available at subsidized rates. The costs for the commodities will be deducted from beneficiaries' salaries over three months, starting in July 2026.

Akeugbagold emphasized the commitment of Governor Seyi Makinde's administration to improve workers' welfare and ensure food access during festive periods.
