ADC's Adegoke Proposes Railway Project for Oyo State

Olooye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke, the governorship candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Oyo State, has described himself as the "beautiful bride" in the upcoming 2027 governorship elections, asserting his independence from political godfathers. During an appearance on the Arise News Morning Show, Adegoke contrasted his candidacy with those of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Action Peoples Movement (APM) candidates.

He proposed a 100-kilometre standard single-gauge railway linking Moniya in Ibadan to Saki in Oke-Ogun, aimed at improving the transport of agricultural produce. The project would be executed in three phases: Moniya to Iseyin, Iseyin to Okeho, and Okeho to Saki, with an estimated cost of $3 million per kilometre.

Adegoke emphasized that funding could involve development partners, alleviating the financial burden on the state government. His administration's agenda, titled "Solutions 2027," will prioritize security, agricultural development, job creation, urban renewal, healthcare, and education.
