ADC's Adegoke Unveils Plans for Ibarapa's Electrification

Olooye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke, the Oyo State governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has pledged to address prolonged power outages in Ibarapa by developing a solar power project. During a thank-you visit to Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North in Igbo-Ora, Adegoke emphasized his commitment to rural electrification, which he believes will provide reliable power and enhance security by improving nighttime illumination.

He linked his security strategy to local government autonomy, advocating for stronger councils and empowered traditional rulers. Adegoke, trained as an agric-economist at Obafemi Awolowo University, also promised to support farmers with modern equipment and improved seeds, facilitating access to loans through cooperative societies.

He emerged as the ADC’s candidate for the 2027 Oyo governorship election after polling 16,051 votes in the party's May 2026 primary. His campaign focuses on agriculture, education, local government autonomy, job creation, and infrastructure.
