Gunmen Kill Former CSO Letam Kine in Rivers State

On Sunday evening, Letam Kine, a former Chief Security Officer of the Khana Local Government Area, was shot and killed by gunmen along Polytechnic Road in Bori, Rivers State. Eyewitnesses reported that the assailants, suspected to be cultists, fired multiple shots before fleeing into nearby bushes.

The attack led to widespread panic, causing residents and passers-by to flee for safety. Following the incident, social and business activities were disrupted, with shop owners closing their businesses.

Dr. Thomas Bariere, the chairman of Khana Local Government Area, condemned the killing, describing it as a senseless act of violence.

He expressed concern over the recurrence of such incidents, noting that Kine's murder occurred shortly after another killing in a nearby community. Dr.

Bariere called for intensified security operations and a thorough investigation to bring those responsible to justice.
