Gunmen Attack Rumuodogo 2 Community, Two Killed

In the early hours of Monday, gunmen attacked the Rumuodogo 2 community in Emohua Local Government Area, Rivers State, resulting in the deaths of two residents. According to community sources, the attack may be a reprisal for the killing of individuals whose bodies were discovered floating in a nearby river the previous week.

Monica Stephen, a resident whose husband was among those attacked, reported that the gunmen stormed their home, broke down the door, dragged her husband outside, and began beating him before shooting him. She claimed that the gunmen intended to kill her husband but spared her.

ASP Bless Kaborlo Agab, a spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, confirmed the attack and stated that investigations are ongoing to ascertain the motive behind the attack and to arrest the perpetrators.
