Gunmen Kill Two in Rivers State Community Attack

On Monday morning, gunmen invaded Rumuodogo 2 in Emohua Local Government Area, Rivers State, resulting in the deaths of two individuals. The motive for the attack remains unclear.

The assailants broke into a home around 1 AM, targeting a woman named Monica, whose husband was forcibly taken outside, beaten, and shot. Monica recounted that she attempted to fight back during the invasion.

The incident has caused panic among residents, prompting many to seek refuge in nearby bushes. Rivers State Police Command spokesperson Bless Agab confirmed the attack and the deaths, stating that investigations are ongoing to ascertain the motive and apprehend the perpetrators.

This incident follows a violent land dispute in the area, where Nkeruwem Ikoh, also known as Obong Ikor, was shot dead in Urugbam Community, Cross River State, allegedly by armed men from a neighboring community.
