Violence in Rivers: Two Dead in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Clash

In Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government area of Rivers State, two persons were reported killed amid escalating tensions over a community dispute. The violence erupted on Tuesday when armed security personnel and members of the local vigilante group, OSPAC, allegedly disrupted a meeting and opened fire, resulting in the deaths of two youths.

Following the initial shootings, a reprisal occurred, leading to the death of Ozomela Stephen Nwaocha, the Omoku OSPAC zonal commander, along with several others. Videos circulating on social media depicted multiple bodies, including three women among the victims.

The violent clash prompted many businesses and markets to close, and residents fled to the neighboring community of Obrikom for safety.
