PAP: Group Supports Mese’s Demand For Itsekiri, Other Ethnic Groups’ Inclusion

The Niger Delta Ethnic Nationalities Youth Leaders Forum for Peace and Development has expressed support for Dr. Shola Mese's demand for the inclusion of the Itsekiri ethnic group in the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP).

The group, in a statement signed by its National President, Snr Comr Amb Tamuno James, and representatives from various ethnic groups in the region, emphasized the need for fairness and equitable inclusion of the Itsekiri Nation in the program. They highlighted Dr.

Mese's role as the sole Itsekiri representative in the PAP and his efforts to ensure the community is not sidelined in benefit distribution. The Forum condemned recent attempts by the Izon Cultural Heritage Centre to undermine Dr.

Mese's intervention, calling it divisive and threatening the peace achieved through dialogue and disarmament in the region. The group urged continued momentum in ensuring all ethnic groups, including the Itsekiri, receive fair treatment and proportional benefits from the PAP, emphasizing the program's founding principle of inclus.
