Investigation Launched into Pastor Udo's Death in Akwa Ibom

Pastor Etetim Udo, the Founder and General Overseer of Power in the Word of God for the World Ministries located at No. 1B Etim Inyang Street, Oron, was found dead on July 23, 2026. The Akwa Ibom State Police Command received a distress call at approximately 8:18 a.m. from a resident who noticed an unusual gathering at the church premises.

The resident learned from the deceased's children that Pastor Udo had allegedly committed suicide. Upon arrival, police operatives found him suspended with a twisted mosquito net rope inside the church.

The scene was processed by investigators, who took photographs and recovered relevant exhibits for forensic examination. The body was taken to the hospital, where a doctor confirmed his death.

His remains have been deposited at the mortuary pending an autopsy. Although preliminary findings suggest suicide, the police emphasized that their investigation would clarify the exact circumstances of the cleric's death and rule out other possibilities.
