Cleric Found Dead in Ondo Hotel Sparks Police Investigation

A 71-year-old cleric associated with Ogo Orimolad C.S. Church was discovered lifeless in a hotel in Ondo prior to a scheduled church ceremony.

The circumstances surrounding his death have raised significant concern among family members and church associates, prompting a police investigation. Reports indicate that the deceased's body was allegedly moved from the hotel to a mortuary in Ikar Akoko, and a formal medical certificate of death was obtained, leading to questions about whether proper procedures were followed.

The unsettling circumstances have led law enforcement to initiate a full-scale investigation to determine the exact cause of death and reconstruct the events leading to this tragedy. Three individuals have reportedly been taken into custody to assist with the police inquiry.

DSP Jimoh Abayomi, a spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, confirmed that the investigation is active and aims to establish whether foul play was involved.
