Church Refunds N1.6m Mistakenly Transferred by Woman

Pastor Jerry Eze’s Streams of Joy International refunded N1,640,200 that was mistakenly transferred into its account by a woman named Sandra Okpara. This situation arose after Okpara made an urgent social media appeal upon realizing the funds, intended for another purpose, had been sent to the wrong account.

On Saturday, September 12, the church confirmed the refund after investigating and verifying the transaction. They noted that prior to Okpara's video going viral, they had not received any formal complaints or communications from her.

Following the video's circulation, church officials attempted to contact Okpara, who then cooperated with them, allowing for the necessary investigation. The transaction was subsequently reversed, and Okpara confirmed receiving the full amount, stating, “100 per cent,” with the refund arriving at approximately 6:22 am on Saturday after a church staff member reached out to her.
