Federal Government Begins Payments for 2024 Projects

The Presidency has announced that payments for outstanding 2024 capital projects have begun, alongside the settlement of debts inherited from previous administrations. A statement released by the special adviser to the President on media and public communication, Sundai Dare, indicated that the federal government has started disbursing funds to contractors and stakeholders involved in unfinished 2024 capital projects.

The full implementation of the capital component of the 2024 and 2025 budgets is targeted for completion by March 31, 2026. Additionally, the 2025 capital budget mandates that ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) submit and upload their cash plans by Monday, February 23, 2026, after which the payment process will begin immediately.
