Idowa Leaders Clear Oba Okuribido of PDP Rally Disruption

The Dagburewe of Idowa, Oba Sikiru Okuribido, was exonerated by the Dagburewe-in-Council and Oloritun-in-Council from allegations of stalling a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) campaign rally on September 21. High Chief Yusuf Olatunji Olusanya, speaking at Idowa Town Hall, denied the claims, asserting that Oba Okuribido supports all political candidates.

He stated that the monarch did not instruct anyone to prevent the PDP rally from entering Idowa and was not involved in any violence. The leaders urged police and security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation, relying on eyewitness accounts and available evidence.

The PDP had previously claimed it was barred from its planned rally venue despite paying N170,000 for it. Olusanya noted that there was no formal notification from the PDP regarding the campaign visit.

The councils called for clarity on conflicting reports about the campaign's movement and highlighted serious allegations of gunshots and property destruction that warranted investigation.
