PDP Candidate Oluyede Claims Ekiti Election Not Fair

Mr. Wole Oluyede, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Ekiti governorship election, stated that the election held on June 20 was not free and fair.

He made this assertion based on reports received from poll agents across the 16 local government areas of Ekiti State. Oluyede criticized the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for declaring the election results, which credited the ruling party with 40,543 votes.

He expressed concerns over voter inducement, intimidation, and irregularities involving the bimodal voter accreditation system, which he claimed raised serious questions about the election's credibility. Oluyede called for a transparent and impartial examination of the electoral process, urging respect for democratic institutions.

He indicated that consultations with the PDP's legal team are ongoing, and he would inform the people of Ekiti State about the next steps regarding the election outcome.
