Oyo PDP Candidates Declare Party Practically Defunct

During a strategic stakeholders' meeting held in Ibadan, Oyo State, legislative candidates of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) declared the party "practically defunct." The meeting, hosted by Taofeek Arapaja, the party's gubernatorial candidate, included discussions among three senatorial candidates and 14 House of Representatives candidates, as well as 32 House Assembly candidates. The candidates expressed their readiness to follow Arapaja's leadership and participate in the party's decisions.

They condemned the leadership style of Governor Seyi Makinde, accusing him of persistently marginalizing party elders and showing total disregard for their contributions to the party's growth. The resolution was jointly signed by candidates including Michael Folorunsho Lana, Hon.

Ogunsina, Muritala Niyi, Hon. Peter Olusina Olapoju, and Hon.
