PDP's Turaki Confident of 2027 Election Participation

During an emergency stakeholders' meeting in Abuja, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki (SAN), the Interim National Chairman of the Turaki-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), confidently asserted that his faction will be on the ballot for the 2027 general elections. He declared, “Nobody, and I dare say, nobody can kill the PDP.

PDP will continue to live.” Turaki acknowledged the current challenges facing the party but maintained that they are not as severe as previous crises. He referenced past leadership issues, including the crisis that led to the establishment of the Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led caretaker committee, asserting that the party remains united.

Turaki also suggested that many crises affecting opposition parties in Nigeria can be traced back to the ruling party. Babandiga Aliyu, the secretary of the PDP's Board of Trustees, praised Turaki for his legal and legitimate approach to party leadership.
