Peace gradually returns to Kwara community after bandit attack

Peace is slowly returning to a Kwara community after a recent bandit attack that saw nearly 50 shops looted and residents forced to flee. Security operatives, including soldiers and local vigilantes, are now patrolling the town, allowing commercial activities to resume.

While some traders have reopened their shops, others are still hesitant. The traditional ruler has called on displaced persons to return and resume their businesses.

Despite the improving situation, residents still express lingering fears and call for increased security presence. A resident, Sule Sanni, mentioned that while normalcy is returning, the fear remains.

Another resident, Abdul Omokanye, echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the need for the government to enhance security measures. The community also urged the Federal Government to establish a military training school and barracks in the area to ensure lasting peace and allow farming activities to resume without fear.
