Peller Faces N395M Lawsuit Over Palace Visit Controversy

Hamzat Habeeb Adelaja, popularly known as Peller, has responded to the controversy surrounding his alleged unauthorized visit to the Benin Palace of Oba Ewuare II, which has led to a N395 million lawsuit. During a recent livestream, Peller clarified that he is not directly responsible for the incident, as it was managed by his team.

The issue arose from a visit on March 6, 2026, which the Benin Traditional Council described as a breach of palace protocol, claiming that Peller's team entered without proper authorization. This prompted disciplinary actions, including the suspension of a chief prosecuting staff member and potential sanctions against a queen involved.

Additionally, Peller is facing a lawsuit from Lagos resident Osarobo Odigi, who accuses him of defamation, cyber harassment, and invasion of privacy, seeking N200 million for defamation, N100 million for emotional trauma, N75 million for cyberbullying, and N20 million for legal costs. Peller has expressed that he cannot afford the demands and feels overwhelmed by the situation.
