Peter Obi Boosts Labour Party's Prominence, Says Abure

Julius Abure, the former factional national chairman of the Labour Party, stated that Peter Obi's entry into the party brought significant prominence ahead of the 2023 general elections. Speaking on Channels Television's Politics Today program on Tuesday, Abure noted that while the Labour Party had already established itself as a viable political force, Obi's involvement boosted its national profile.

He described the relationship between Obi and the party as a "50-50" contribution to its success during the elections. Abure emphasized that Nigerians were searching for an alternative political platform, which the Labour Party provided with a credible structure.

He recalled that several prominent politicians, including Pat Utomi and Alex Otti, had joined the party, highlighting that the Labour Party had emerged as a third force in Nigeria's political landscape. Abure asserted that Obi's presence attracted many notable Nigerians to the party, reinforcing its status and influence in the political arena.
