Obi Demands Transparency on Tinubu's Educational Credentials

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to address concerns regarding his educational background. In a statement on his official social media handle, Obi criticized the efforts to prevent the public release of foreign court records related to Tinubu's past, labeling these attempts as "profoundly embarrassing" for Nigeria.

He argued that issues of legitimate public interest should not be obscured by legal barriers. Obi stated that true leadership requires the courage to confront one's history and provide transparent explanations when questions arise.

He emphasized that foundational primary and secondary educational credentials should not be subject to legal disputes. Obi expressed concern about the implications of these legal actions for Nigeria's youth, particularly the over 30 million students currently in education.

He asserted that the presidency must exemplify integrity, accountability, and ethical leadership, highlighting that true leaders distinguish themselves by addressing past mistakes honestly and prioritizing national interests over personal ambitions.
