Umahi Dismisses Obi as Political Threat Ahead of 2027

David Umahi, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), asserted during an interview on Tuesday that Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State and a candidate from the Democratic Congress, poses no threat in the political arena and cannot compete with him or President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Umahi dismissed suggestions that Obi could emerge as a significant opposition figure ahead of the 2027 general elections, stating that Obi's political influence is negligible.

He criticized Obi's tenure as governor, citing failures in infrastructure, industry establishment, and empowerment initiatives. Umahi also accused members of the Obidi movement of being intolerant towards dissenting opinions and engaging in abusive behavior towards critics.

He challenged the Obidi movement to participate in discussions about infrastructure development and emphasized that the current administration under Tinubu is addressing deep-rooted structural problems in the economy, which cannot be resolved overnight.
