Umahi Predicts Obi's 2027 Loss to Tinubu Amid Claims

David Umahi, the former governor of Ebonyi State, asserted that Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), will be alive in 2027 but will face defeat against Bola Tinubu. Umahi made these remarks while inspecting the ongoing federal road project in Ebonyi State.

He dismissed Obi's allegations of government harassment, stating that no one wishes Obi dead and that his claims are unreasonable. Umahi argued that the Southeast region remains supportive of Tinubu's administration, citing federal infrastructure projects as evidence of the government's commitment to the region.

He challenged Obi to publicly debate the achievements of Tinubu's administration, expressing confidence in Tinubu's ability to deliver for the Southeast. Bayo Onanuga, a spokesman for the president, rejected Obi's claims as unfounded and misleading, accusing him of fabricating a victimhood narrative to gain sympathy.
