Mathia Ote Confirmed as Chairman of Petroleum Tanker Drivers

During a quarterly national executive council meeting held in Warri, Delta State, Mathia Ote was affirmed as the substantive chairman of the Petroleum Tanker Drivers Branch of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG). This decision follows the tenure of the previous chairman, Augustin Egbon, who was inaugurated last year.

Ote paid tribute to Egbon, describing him as a great leader and emphasizing the importance of sustaining the welfare of union members. He expressed gratitude to the NUPENG leadership and the members for entrusting him with the position for the next four years.

Ote also highlighted the critical safety issues faced by tanker drivers, urging them to avoid night driving due to the increased risks of hijacking, kidnapping, and accidents. He stressed the need for caution on the roads and the importance of safeguarding lives and property, noting that any incidents would have serious consequences for the drivers and their businesses.
