Arewa Forum Advocates for Digital Governance in Nigeria

The Arewa Professional Forum (APF) has urged the Federal Government to accelerate the adoption of digital governance and paperless administration across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs). In a statement issued on Friday and signed by National President Comrade Auwal Muhammed, the Forum emphasized that recent developments regarding the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) highlight the necessity of strengthening institutional systems rather than assigning blame.

The APF noted that the ongoing public service reforms, particularly under the leadership of Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, have made significant strides in transforming the Federal Civil Service through digital innovation.

The implementation of the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) System, GovMail, and the 1-GOV Cloud Platform are key initiatives aimed at modernizing governance. The Forum stated that a fully digitized government system would enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency while reducing administrative lapses.

The benefits of these reforms are particularly evident in Northern Nigeria, where federal institutions have improved in various digital service areas.
