Reps Find Document Naming Tinubu as PFIPC Chairman

On Thursday, during an investigative hearing in Abuja, the House of Representatives ad-hoc committee probing the activities of the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC) discovered a document that allegedly listed President Bola Tinubu as the Chairman of the council. This document was part of an application submitted to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) for official government number plates for vehicles associated with the PFIPC.

The document also named the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) as the Secretary of the council and included several serving ministers as members. Rep. Yusuf Gagdi, the committee chairman, questioned the FRSC's acceptance of the document, noting it lacked the official security features typical of genuine presidential documents.

The committee is investigating how the PFIPC obtained official recognition and government documents despite concerns about its legal status. The hearing also referenced testimony from businessman Gbenga Collins, who believed the PFIPC was a legitimate agency due to its official appearance.
