Atiku Urges Tinubu to Apologize and Resign Over PFIPC

On Wednesday, Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President and presidential candidate for the African Democratic Congress, urged President Bola Tinubu to apologize to Nigerians and resign due to the controversy surrounding the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC). Atiku criticized the conflicting statements from the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation and the Central Bank of Nigeria regarding the opening of bank accounts associated with the PFIPC.

He stated that one institution denied authorizing the accounts and alleged forgery, while the other claimed the accounts were opened following due process. Atiku emphasized that these contradictions pose a credibility challenge for Tinubu's administration.

He called for the National Assembly to summon both the Accountant-General and the Central Bank Governor to clarify their positions. Atiku asserted that the PFIPC scandal reflects on Tinubu's integrity and competence, urging for an independent investigation to restore public confidence.

He concluded that if Tinubu fails to act, he should resign.
