ICPC Exposes Fake Agencies Linked to PFIPC Scandal

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has revealed that Adeniyi Adeyemi, the detained Director-General of the illegal Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), allegedly created two fraudulent agencies: the FCT Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA) and the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency and Public-Private Partnership (FIPA-PPP). These agencies were falsely presented as government institutions using forged documents.

The ICPC's interim report, ordered by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, concluded that Adeyemi was never appointed by the federal government and that the PFIPC was not established through any valid government instrument. The report recommended Adeyemi's prosecution for impersonation, forgery, and criminal misrepresentation.

Adeyemi allegedly forged legislative instruments to facilitate the opening of bank accounts for these fake agencies, which lacked the necessary authorization from the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation. The investigation also identified individuals purportedly involved in the account-opening process.
