Atiku Abubakar Critiques CBN and OAGF on PFIPC Scandal

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria and Presidential Candidate of the African Democratic Congress, criticized the conflicting statements from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation (OAGF) concerning the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC) scandal. Speaking through his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku highlighted that the CBN's testimony before the House of Representatives contradicted the OAGF's earlier narrative, indicating a significant credibility crisis for the Tinubu administration.

He emphasized the need for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to clarify which account he supports and urged the National Assembly to summon both the Accountant-General and the CBN Governor for a joint testimony. Atiku stated that the scandal reflects on Tinubu's integrity and questioned the potential for other undiscovered abuses due to weak oversight.
