Internal Collaborators Enabled Fraud, Says Tinubu's Aide

Temitope Ajayi, a senior special assistant to President Bola Tinubu, asserted that internal collaborators within government institutions facilitated alleged fraudulent activities associated with Adeniyi Adeyemi, who claims to be the director of a non-existent agency. Ajayi's comments were made in response to allegations surrounding Adeyemi, whom he described as an "irredeemable con artist." Ajayi indicated that the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had detected irregularities and raised alarms about the activities of a fake organization.

He urged security agencies, including the Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Police Force, and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), to investigate and prosecute individuals within government institutions who may have supported the alleged fraud. Ajayi emphasized that the existence of such fraudulent schemes is indicative of systemic failures within the government, allowing these activities to thrive.

He called for accountability and thorough investigations into the matter.
