Air Peace Faces Flight Disruptions After Aircraft Damage

Air Peace has warned of disruptions to its domestic operations following severe damage to an Airbus A320 aircraft at Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos. The incident occurred when a baggage conveyor belt vehicle operated by the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company PLC (NAHCO) collided with the aircraft's engine shortly after it completed flight P47427 from Kano on Tuesday night.

The aircraft has been rendered unserviceable, forcing Air Peace to adjust its flight schedule, which will lead to significant delays and cancellations across its network. The airline expressed regret over the incident and is working to mitigate the impact on its operations by redeploying other aircraft.

Air Peace has apologized to passengers whose travel plans may be affected and assured that its customer service team is actively working to minimize inconvenience and provide alternative travel arrangements. The airline emphasized that the safety of passengers and crew remains its highest priority.

As of the time of the report, NAHCO had not responded to inquiries regarding the incident.
