Atiku, David Mark Attend Amaechi’s Mother’s Burial

On Saturday, senior leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) attended the funeral service for Dame Mary Orduah Amaechi, the mother of the party's Vice Presidential Candidate, Rotimi Amaechi. The service took place at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Ubima, Rivers State.

Notable attendees included Atiku Abubakar, the ADC presidential candidate, and David Mark, the National Chairman of the ADC. Former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and former Attorney-General of the Federation Abubakar Malami were also present, along with ADC National Secretary Rauf Aregbesola and other dignitaries.

The ADC expressed that the leaders joined Amaechi and his family to pay their final respects during their time of grief. Dame Mary Orduah Amaechi passed away on July 16, 2026.

The burial occurred shortly after former Anambra State governor Peter Obi and Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso visited Amaechi's residence in Port Harcourt to offer their condolences.
