Peter Obi Condemns Killings in Benue and Plateau States

The attacks occurred over the weekend, with gunmen invading communities in Otukpo and Riyom local government areas.

Obi described the violence as heartbreaking and unacceptable, highlighting that the ongoing security crisis has left families in constant fear and devastation. He called for a proactive intelligence-driven security strategy to curb the persistent violence, insisting that the government must move beyond routine condemnations and take decisive action.

Obi emphasized that every life lost is significant, urging authorities to identify, arrest, and prosecute those responsible for the atrocities. He also expressed condolences to the bereaved families and called for a swift recovery for the injured, stressing that no nation can develop when its citizens live in fear.
