Pinnick Declines Role in NFF Normalisation Committee

Amaju Melvin Pinnick, the former President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) from 2014 to 2022, has firmly stated he is not interested in any role within the proposed Normalisation Committee following the resignation of Ibrahim Gusau and other NFF Executive Committee members. Currently serving as Deputy Chair of the FIFA Men’s Competitions Committee and a Presidential Adviser to the CAF President, Pinnick dismissed speculation about his potential candidacy for the committee or the NFF presidency after its tenure.

He expressed confidence in Nigeria's ability to find capable leaders for its football, stating, “I’m not interested,” and highlighted his enjoyment of personal peace and focus on his businesses. Pinnick's comments come at a crucial time for Nigerian football, as stakeholders await decisions regarding the committee's composition and mandate amidst ongoing challenges within the NFF.

He reiterated his commitment to support Nigerian football in any capacity when necessary but confirmed he has moved on from leadership roles.
