Bature Re-elected as Plateau APC Chairman Ahead of 2027

On Tuesday, during the state congress of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State, Hon. Rufu Bature was re-elected as the state chairman.

The congress was attended by notable figures including Gov. Caleb Mutfwang, Deputy Governor Josephin Piyo, and members of the National Assembly and Plateau State House of Assembly.

The congress saw the accreditation of delegates across the state, overseen by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Hon.

Oscar Yelwa, chairman of the state congress committee, commended party members for embracing democratic consensus. In his acceptance speech, Bature pledged to reposition the party for greater strength ahead of the 2027 general elections, stating that failure is not an option.

He highlighted his long-standing service to the state, having worked under three administrations, including those of former governors Joshua Dariye and Simon Lalong. Gov.

Mutfwang described the congress as historic and urged party members to remain united and aggressively mobilize grassroots support, aiming to recruit at least ten new members each.
