Plateau CP Faniyan Promises Justice After Bin’per Attack

On Tuesday morning, gunmen attacked Bin’per community in Plateau, resulting in fatalities and injuries among residents. In response, Plateau Police Commissioner Faniyan conducted an on-the-spot assessment of the situation, expressing condolences to affected families, traditional rulers, and stakeholders.

He condemned the attack and pledged to bring the perpetrators to justice, conveying the condolences of the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Olatunji Disu. Faniyan assured the community of the police's commitment to preventing further crime and criminality in the area, stating, “We will do everything within our constitutional powers to identify, arrest and prosecute those responsible for this dastardly act.” He announced that security measures had been enhanced to protect residents and prevent additional attacks.

Faniyan encouraged community members to provide timely and accurate information to assist the police and warned against taking the law into their own hands, stating that "jungle justice will only escalate tension and affect proper justice for the victims.".
