Plateau Taskforce Arrests 184 in Crackdown on Human Trafficking Joints

The Plateau State taskforce conducted a successful operation resulting in the arrest of 184 individuals involved in human trafficking, including suspects engaged in trafficking, recruitment, and their accomplices. The operation, led by Plateau State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Philemon Daffi, signifies a crucial step in combating modern-day slavery.

Among those arrested were 123 adult males, 41 adult females, seven female minors, nine male minors, and three pregnant women. The taskforce executed a strategic multi-location raid, emphasizing a data-driven approach and meticulous planning to tackle human trafficking effectively.

The operation aimed to rescue vulnerable citizens trapped in the shadows of society. The Attorney General warned that establishments or individuals found harboring minors for profit would face legal consequences, including asset forfeiture.

The state government also pledged to hold negligent parents accountable for exposing their wards to trafficking. This operation underscores Plateau State's commitment to eradicating human trafficking and ensuring the safety of its residents.
