Jigawa Police Arrest 14 Suspects, Recover Stolen Goods

The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested 14 suspects and recovered various stolen items, including cows, motorcycles, cable wires, and a goat, in a series of operations aimed at curbing cattle rustling, motorcycle theft, and vandalism. Police Public Relations Officer Shi’isu Adam announced these developments in a statement on Friday in Dutse.

Significant operational successes were reported over the past week due to intelligence-driven patrols and collaboration with vigilante groups. On September 1, 2026, four suspects were arrested in Guri LGA for possessing three stolen cows.

Another suspect was apprehended for riding a stolen motorcycle from Niger Republic. Additionally, three individuals were arrested for stealing cable wire valued at ₦700,000.

Other arrests included a suspect found with a stolen motorcycle and another with stolen cable wire. The police confirmed that all suspects confessed to their crimes during interrogation.
