Ogun Police Arrest 15 for Traffic Obstruction on Expressway

On Friday, the Ogun State Police Command conducted a significant enforcement operation targeting illegal structures along Shanti Street, which obstructed the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway in Ifo. This initiative, led by the state Commissioner of Police Bode Ojajuni, aimed to curb traffic congestion and enhance public safety.

The operation involved the deployment of six trucks to dismantle and evacuate illegal structures, resulting in the arrest of fifteen individuals for violating environmental regulations. Deputy Superintendent of Police Oluseyi Babaseyi stated that these individuals would be charged in court upon completion of investigations.

The enforcement action is part of a broader initiative dubbed "No Traffic Gridlock," designed to remove unauthorized constructions that impede the free flow of traffic. Babaseyi emphasized the commitment of the Ogun State Police Command to enforce traffic and environmental regulations, warning that individuals or groups obstructing public roads would face appropriate legal consequences.
