Delta Police Arrest Eight for Robbery and Cultism

The Delta State Police Command arrested eight suspects involved in robbery, cultism, and gunrunning during operations across the state. The arrests were part of a sustained crackdown on violent crime, as disclosed by the command's public relations officer, Bright Edaf, on Tuesday.

The operations were based on credible intelligence received on July 14, 2026. Among those arrested were Stephen Danladi, 29, from Langtang LGA, Plateau State, and Jude Christian, 26, from Mbaitoli LGA, Imo State.

The police recovered two locally made pistols during the search. Additionally, Jerri Egenu was arrested for allegedly receiving stolen property linked to a gang responsible for mobile phone and motorcycle thefts in Okpanam, Asaba.

The police also intercepted a vehicle during surveillance, arresting four suspected cultists and recovering a locally made gun and live cartridges. The police urged residents to continue providing credible information to enhance security in the state.
