Kano Police Arrest Man for Impersonating Officer

The Kano State Police Command arrested Adamu Musa, a 35-year-old resident of Kureken Sani Quarters, on 1st September 2026 for impersonating a Chief Superintendent of Police and defrauding the public. The arrest followed a distress report received from No. 52 Police Mobile Force in Challawa, Kano.

SP Abdullahi Haruna, the command’s Public Relations Officer, stated that Musa specialized in deceiving individuals by claiming he had influence over police recruitment and postings. He circulated edited photographs and AI-generated images of himself alongside senior officers to lend credibility to his scams.

A search of his premises uncovered various police uniforms and a cash sum of Three Hundred Thousand Naira. Musa is currently in custody and will face charges upon the completion of the investigation.

The police urged the public to remain vigilant against fraudsters and reminded them that recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force is free.
